New Patients

We welcome new patients at Mangan Dental Group. One of the greatest honors we get is the referral of your friends and family to this office. Not only do we accept new patients, we set aside time especially to accommodate new patients in our schedule.  It is our goal to develop a relationship with you that will help you keep a beautiful smile for life.

To become a patient at Mangan Dental Group we start by gathering information about who you are and why you are coming to see us. Fill out our Online Patient Registration Form (or download it as a PDF to fill out a paper form). Fill it out as best you can, and feel free to call us if you are unsure about anything. Click “submit” on the web based form page to get the form to us right away. If you download the form to your computer, you can either send us the completed forms by mail, or bring them to the office about 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so we can enter your information into our system.

We will then schedule an examination that will help you determine your current condition, and let us tell you what we will need to do to keep your dental health at it's peak. It will be about an hour in length, and will give you a chance to meet and speak with Dr. Mangan and the staff. That first visit may include x-rays, photographs, and other diagnostic aids to help us treat your specific needs. We always check your teeth, your gums, your bite, your jaw joint (the TMJ), screen for oral cancer, evaluate any cosmetic changes that you might like to consider, and of course answer any concerns you may have.

After that initial examination we will set up an appropriate amount of time for our hygienist to clean your teeth, and make any other appointments you need such as treating any problems we discover or setting up detailed consultations if you have conditions that warrant extra discussion time.

Welcome to the practice!

Appointment Policy

In order to offer the best dental services to our patients our office reserves individual appointment times for every patient. Often, our practitioners spend significant time preparing for your scheduled appointment. Should something occur that requires you to break your scheduled appointment, we ask that you give a minimum of 24 hours notice for any appointment changes or cancellations, yet earlier notification is greatly appreciated. This gives other patients the opportunity to be scheduled in your place, and allows our practitioner’s time to adjust their schedules. We ask that you arrive on time for your scheduled appointments. We reserve the right to charge for broken appointments when less than 24 hours notice is given. After 2 consecutive missed appointments, it is our policy to not reschedule you for any further appointments without non-refundable pre-payment.

Financial Policy

Payment is due at the time of treatment, unless other arrangements have been made prior to treatment. We accept all major credit cards and personal checks.  Parents, guardians or personal representatives are responsible for all fees and services rendered for treatment of a minor/child. We realize that dental care can be a significant investment, and therefore we work with our patients to help them find ways to make large treatment plans affordable.  We do not have the resources or manpower to do the work of a bank or credit card, but we will help you apply for third-party financing if you want to pay out treatment over time.  Several lenders make credit available for medical and dental expenses, and you can apply online or at our office if you like. If you use our services it is expected that you pay for them before you leave the office (much the same as would be expected at any store or service shop elsewhere).  If you have insurance, please understand that even if we are filing a claim with your insurance company it does not relieve you from the responsibility for the payment of all charges incurred.  Some insurance companies will only pay the policyholder, therefore we cannot accept "assignment of benefits" from those carriers.  Please ask in advance if you have any questions about how we handle finances.

Dental Insurance Policy

We perform dental services for patients, and we consider patients to be the ones who owe us for the services we provide. Dental insurance is a contract between you (or your employer) and the insurance company. It obligates them to pay a pre-defined amount for things that the contract covers. As a courtesy to our patients we will file most dental insurance claims with your insurance company. However, filing a claim with your insurance company does not relieve you from your responsibility for the payment of all charges. For some insurance we are able to estimate the benefits from your insurance plan and may require that you pay the estimated patient portion in lieu of the full treatment balance on the day of treatment. Our estimates are not a guarantee of payment and any balance resulting from a lower reimbursement from your insurance than initially estimated is due in full from the patient or responsible party. In addition, if the insurance company fails to make payment within 60 days, the entire balance becomes due from the patient.
